McClenahan Bruer Communications Hires New Creative and Account Staff

New talent brings years of both interactive and print design expertise to the deep-tech agency

Portland, Ore. – May 24, 2007 – McClenahan Bruer Communications (McBru), North America’s leading full-service agency for deep-technology companies, announced today that the company has hired Randy Wilson as creative director, Scott Seiter as a graphic designer and Miriam Hathaway as an account assistant. Fulfilling deep-tech companies’ appetite for branding expertise and strategic creative that is as strong online as off, Wilson and Seiter bring together wide-ranging experience in electronic and print media to their new roles in McBru’s creative department. Already experienced in everything from PR to e-mail marketing, Hathaway joins McBru as an account assistant supporting an account team that counsels deep-tech clients across all marketing disciplines.

Randy Wilson
Wilson brings more than 15 years of innovative design and brand strategy expertise in the technology industry to his role as McBru creative director. Wilson has led creative campaigns for large Fortune 500 brands to small start-ups across a wide range of media: print collateral and advertising, direct marketing, broadcast/infomercials and electronic media (e.g, Web, online marketing, and interface design). Prior to McBru, Wilson worked at Intel where, in addition to working with different product groups developing brand and creative strategy, he worked closely with Intel’s corporate brand identity team to help establish and implement new brand identity guidelines. His employment at Intel was preceded by several years working for agencies such as White Horse Interactive and Shafer Advertising & Public Relations. Wilson graduated from Cal State University Fullerton in 1989 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design.

Scott Seiter
Graphic designer and Flash expert Seiter came to McBru from Boston with a fresh take on print, Web and identity design. Prior to McBru, Seiter had his own freelance design business and worked for Boston’s SYP Design & Production and GoBig Branding, designing both Web and print communications vehicles for clients such as Dunkin’ Donuts and New Balance. Scott received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.

Miriam Hathaway
Miriam Hathaway joined McBru as a communications account assistant. At McBru, Miriam supports PR, advertising, lead generation and e-mail marketing campaigns for electronics industry clients such as ON Semiconductor and SMSC. Hathaway began her communications career in PR, gaining significant experience in business and technology trade media relations, news release and collateral development, and even internal communications. Prior to McBru, Hathaway handled public relations and e-mail marketing for publishing-related companies. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in writing, rhetoric and culture from the University of Puget Sound and has studied marketing at the University of Denver.

“Already, Randy, Scott and Miriam have impressed us as they’ve quickly taken to the McBru culture and our results-driven approach to marketing across all the disciplines,” said Kerry McClenahan, McBru president. “Deep-technology companies are really transitioning to electronic media like never before, and this is the right team to help get them there without losing focus on their offline activities.”
